The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) is a traditional private university based in Santiago, Chile. Founded in 1888, it is one of Chile’s oldest universities. PUC is widely recognized as the most traditional and prestigious university in the country. It has been ranked as the best university in Latin America by two of the world’s most prestigious University rankings, the QS World University Rankings (in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023)[19][20] and the Times Higher Education University Rankings (2019 and 2020).

PUC has four campuses in Santiago and one campus in Villarrica. The campuses in Santiago are:
Casa Central (in downtown Santiago, hosting the university’s main hospital, and the 3T Philips scanner)
San Joaquín (in Macul Commune, hosting the Engineering School, the Institute for Biological and Medical Engineering, the Millenium Institute for Intelligent Healthcare Engineering and the Biomedical Imaging Center, with 1.5T Philips and 0.5 Siemens scanners)
Oriente (in Ñuñoa Commune)
Lo Contador ( in Providencia Commune)
These four campuses have a total of 223,326.06 m2 constructed in a 614,569.92 m2 area.

Build in 1926, Campus Oriente functioned until 1971 as a convent, boarding school, and girls’ school run by the nuns of the Sacred Hearts. The University bought it that year to house various professional degree programs. Today it is the headquarters of the Faculty of Arts and the Institute of Aesthetics. This building also hosts a renovated wind with it Outreach center, which will host our EMTP Chile workshop.
